And the banks...

Don't get me started on the banks...

Did you know that the money thrown at the banks to bail them out of the mess they created by themselves is more than the total money that has been spent on Science world-wide since the MIDDLE AGES!

Yes, you read right. The one thing that has advanced humanity for the past 600 years has received less funding OVER 600 YEARS than the banks did in 6 months.

Does that sound insane to you? The banks get bailed out and we are expected to forget about it.

Whilst our lives are worse... and the banks are in hock to us the tax-paying public. But that will be forgotten.

But if you owe the banks they will hound you and hound you until they get their pound of flesh.

Is the system mad, yes it is.

And why is that? Because the politicians themselves are in hock to the banks. Or, the ministers and high-ups in the political chain want to get those lucrative directorships of banks and companies for themselves after we boot them out of parliament.

Disillusioned... me? Definitely!

Power corrupts...

...and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This means that you cannot trust anyone who actively seeks power. That means every politician, every religious leader and every leader of everything else...businesses, charities, whatever.

Never give any power to anyone who seeks it, because, in the end, they seek power for power itself. They have a vested interest in the current status quo. After all, if the world changed tomorrow, they would be out of a job.

The only person who should ever be given power is the person who would never seek power. And even then they should only be given it for a short term, 18 months at most.

You only have to look at politics to see that this is true. After their first term in power (say 4 years) every government goes insane and attempts to impose their own ideas. Eventually they self implode because they think themselves invincible. And that's just politicians, who can eventually be voted out.

But just think of the effects of this on those who are unelected... religious leaders, charity leaders and business leaders.

Crusades and Jihads anyone?
Banking crisis anyone?

I do not wish a return to the Middle Ages where unelected kings vied for power against unelected religions leaders, both camps attempting to impose their view of how the world should be on the populace... and maintaining their positions at the top.

So, wake up and start taking notice of what's happening about you, because soon we will all be in thrall to the olgarchs of big business. Unfettered capitalism can never work... just like unfettered anything can never work.

Keep everything in perspective and stop anyone who wants power from getting any.

Al the world is mad...

There is an old saying, which goes: 'All the world is mad, except for me and thee... and thee, I think, a little strange.'

With the events of the past few weeks I think I'm back in the 19th century again.

Which is probably to be expected with a Conservative government. After all, they are the landed classes who believe that those of privilege should rule. Deny education to the plebeian classes, ensure that schools are of such low quality that none of the working classes can ever gain a decent education, and even if they can, they can never afford university. Maintain privilege for the privileged.

And with the news that the Dutch of Cornwall runs the country, that the government liaises with the prince of Wales about policy and we see that we truly have an un-elected government and that the anachronism of the royal family is still running the country.

Of course, the government are all jobsworths. They are really there to get jobs in the city after they are kicked out in the next election. And that is the true job of all governments, which is why the banks can screw up the economy and never be touched... un-elected politicians need somewhere to go after they lose their jobs.

And that is the problem, the same clique is ruling us (the politicians) as are really running the country (the bankers). So the rest of us suffer after bailing out the bankers for the mess they made, just because our politicians need a safety net when we realize just how incompetent and ineffectual they are.

Nothing changes... because, no matter who we vote for, the government always wins.
